The card in St. Joe was a great
success. There was a sold-out
crowd in the Ballroom.
Steve Walker gained another win
with a 4-Round decision over
Kenny Durham. Steve will be
fighting Thomas Damgaard in
Denmark on Feb. 28.
Earl Walker who is the trainer
of the St. Joe fighters (Galen,
Byron, and Donnie) and very
accomplished in Martial Arts;
made his pro debut with a very
impressive one round stoppage of
very game Andy Utterback. Earl
is 38 years old and one of the
better fighters around.
The always crowd-pleasing
"Nasty" Nate Zeikle won by tko
in round 2 over pro-debuting
Antwon Jones. Nate weathered a
tough first round and won with
body shots in the 2nd.
Donnie McCrary returned 10 days
after his war with Francisco
Diaz to register another win at
the onset of the 2nd round over
Ron Baker.
The most entertaining fight of
the night was between two local
inexperienced heavyweights that
had the crowd on their feet for
the duration. Clinton Boldridge
eventually outlasted Steve
Blakely to win by tko in the
3rd.
Jimmy Joe Zeikle looked very
impressive with a 4-round
decision win over Mike Walker of
Hannibal. Mike Walker will be
fighting Jesper Jensen in
Denmark on Feb. 28. Jimmy may
be landing a fight with Jorge
Paez or perhaps an IBA Title
fight will be in his future.
Byron Polley won by tko in one
over Randy Gibney in a very
entertaining action-filled 2
minutes.
The main-event saw Galen Brown
destroy Gary Culp in 30
seconds. Galen is fighting for
the IBF World Youth Title in
Germany on Feb. 21 against
Robert Steiglitz. He did not
want to waste any time or take
any chances. His enthusiasm had
Culp beat before he left the
dressing room.
That is pretty much a rap-up of
what happened. The aboved named
fighters are all guys that I am
handling now and as you can see,
I have several of them traveling
out of town. On a personal
note; I will be fighting Kai
Kurzawa for the WBC
Intercontinental Light
Heavyweight Title in Dresden,
Germany on Feb. 28
